Giving a Course
Send a Loved One on a course
We offer two alternatives for you to give a loved one a course at the school:
Stealth Registration
This guarantees a place on a course. You do the registration (in your name) and we transfer the registration to your loved one at a later date. This option is only open for credit card registration and when it is fully pre-paid.
How to do a stealth registration:
- Decide which course you want to give
- Register for the course using your own email address and name (the email address is the primary way of accessing the registration information).
- You need to use your name and address so that the credit card transaction happens.
- Pay for the class in full
- Email us to let us know for which class you registered and the name and email address of the intended student. We'll update the record after the holidays or after the date you suggest - so that we don't spoil the surprise.
Gift Certificates
A gift certificate allows the recipient to choose any course at the school.
We're offering gift certificates that can be applied to the cost of any course at the Port Townsend School of Woodworking.
You buy a gift certificate and we'll send a card to the recipient telling them how to register for a class using your gift. The card can be sent to you to give to the recipient.
Please enter the recipient's name, address and other information in the Shipping Information and then enter your own information in the Billing Address information. You'll need to click the button to enter separate billing information.
Buying certificates for multiple people:
We apologize in advance - this part of our ecommerce system is pretty simplistic. If you want to send gift certificates to multiple people you'll have to complete multiple transactions.
We will mail out the card / certificate within two working days. We'll send them by first class post but we can't make any promises for delivery by a specific date in the holiday season. (This particular elf is running as hard as he can at the moment.)
Validity and refunds:
Gift certificates are good for two years from the date of issue. The certificates are only valid to be applied to course fees - not for merchandise.
Gift certificates can be refunded to the purchaser (not the recipient) for an administrative fee of $30.
