Our furniture making classes are targetted from beginning woodworkers to experienced woodworkers. Beginning woodworkers can start in our Introduction to Furnituremaking class and progress to our more advanced classes. Experienced woodworkers can take week or weekend classes focussing on specific design details, techniques or projects.

We prefer to teach hand joinery combined with lumber preparation (aka milling) on stationary machines. If you prefer just to do hand work please see out Hand Tools program.

We're adding some courses on computer aided design (CAD) this year.

This year we are offering:

• Introduction to Furnituremaking - For the beginner. Design and build a small project using hand joinery with lumber you mill.
• Intermediate Furniture Making - Refine your design and building skills creating a  frame and panel cabinet.
  
• Greene and Greene Details I & Greene and Greene Details II with Darrell Peart. Add the classic Greene and Greene details to your furniture. Darrell has added a new class this year.
  
• Build a Windsor Chair with Greg Kossow. This class will introduce to chair making techniques as you build a bowback Windsor Chair.
  
• "Out of Square" Challenge yourself. Seth Rolland helps experienced woodworkers explore new designs and new techniques.
  
• Introduction to Sketchup  and Designing Furniture with Sketchup - Google's Sketchup is a free program that allows you to sketch and then do the detailed design of a piece of furniture or a run of cabinets. Dave Richards is a lead blogger at Fine Woodworking's Computer Design Blog
  
• Furniture Rescue Class - Learn how to rescue and repair damaged furniture.
  
• Decorative Details learn inlay and stringing with Garrett Hack.
  

Extended Furniture Making Classes

• In January and February we are offering the Introduction to Woodworking, Power Tools - Large and Small and  Intermediate Furniture Making classes in sequence so that you can spend five weeks immersed in Furniture Making. A kick start to a new hobby or the grounding for a new career.
