Introduction
Furniture Restoration is the process of repairing and refinishing on old piece of furniture when age or abuse has damaged both the structure and finish.
A gorgeous piece of furniture can lose its value if it is carelessly restored nor will it be easy to return to its original glory.
You may bring a small piece of older furniture (Older in this context is up to Danish Modern -1965), such as a chair, small table or small chest, to the class and we'll look at it with you and help you start the restoration process.
If you don't have a piece to bring, don't worry, we'll work with Fort Worden State Parks Staff or Jefferson County Historical Society to have some furniture that you can work on under Guy's expert eye.
Instructor
Guy Moonan-Woods is a professional furniture restorer, living and working in Vancouver, BC. Guy completed a seven year furniture restoration apprenticeship in the UK before moving to Canada.
Guy will also be teaching a weekend Furniture Refinishing class in May 2012.
