In this course you'll make a simple three legged stool with a circular seat using mainly hand tools. This stool is a basic as it gets with no stretchers between the legs and wedged through tenons to hold the legs in place.

You'll shape the legs using a drawknife or a spokeshaves. We'll show you how to make the tenons by hand or using a special tenoning bit on an electric drill.

You will rough out the seat on the bandsaw and then trim it to round with a spokeshave.  You'll drill the holes for the legs using a brace and special chair makers bit. You'll smooth the top of the stool with a hand plane.

In this one day class you'll finish constructing the stool. We'll provide you with instructions for finishing the stool when you get home.

The stool is the size of a traditional milking stool - about 19" tall with a seat 11-12" in diameter.

Note: This course will need a minimum of 4 students to run and we'll need to close out enrollment by 19th of November. If the course does not run we'll fully refund your money.
