Rafter Tail Table
One Week Workshop with Darrell Peart

Furniture Making Series Level: Intermediate

Introduction

Darrell Peart has established himself as one on the leading makers of Greene and Greene Style furniture over the last decade.

Darrell has developed a series of techniques based on high precision CNC (computer controlled router cut) templates to ensure the creation of tight fitting beautiful Green and Greene style joinery.

Class Description

Inspired by the architecture of Greene & Greene, the Rafter-tail series of tables utilizes similar parts and joinery to produce a variety of different small tables. In this class, each student will build one and possibly two pieces (depending upon the design(s) chosen) from the given choices.

Choices will include a coffee table, nightstand, end table, plant stands, and speaker stands. More
choices may be available at the time of the class.

Any of the given designs can be custom sized. If speaker stands are chosen, the exact size of the
intended speakers should be brought to class so the stands can be sized to match.

The table tops can either be glass (fused glass) or wood. Time permitting; the wood tops can be built in class as
well. Students will be responsible to provide their own glass tops.

The intent is that each student will leave the class furnished with what is needed to build a suite of Rafter-Tail furniture. All the necessary templates and jigs required will either be made or provided in class. Drawings and cultists for all the designs will also be provided.
