Where Your Dollars will Go:
Our 12-week Woodworking Foundation course, in the Fall 2013 and again in Winter 2014, are intensive - the students work from 9-5, Monday through Friday under the guidance of highly skilled woodworkers and furniture makers.
We offer scholarships to young people (17-29 years old) from across the country to take these courses. We have extended our Scholarship program to allow Veterans and people transitioning out of the military (up to the age of 35 years old) to apply for scholarships.
Why is This Important?
Woodworking shop classes are disappearing from high schools and not every student is suited to going to college. We believe it is vitally important to provide alternative routes for individuals to develop as craftsmen and to preserve the traditional skills and values of woodworking for future generations. Students will find these opportunities at Port Townsend School of Woodworking and your generous support will make this possible.
